Finally!

For once, after what seemed like ages, a weekend which lived up to its name!
Three movies, two yummy Ti-Amo icecreams, lots and lots of sleep, one very depressing cricket match, more sleep, long walks, sms chats wih depressing jokes, bakar with friends, good food... now that's what weekends are all about!
Anyway, watched The Holiday, Blood Diamond and Parzania! I didn't expect much from the first movie but it was high on chick content, and Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet did a great job! The Holiday is quite a light-hearted romance movie and leaves you in a feel good frame of mind! The same doesn't apply to the other 2 movies... Blood Diamond and Parzania deal with grave issues and I must say that the scenes from both are gruesome and touching, but splendid movies the two! The former is a story of 2 men, one a mercenary cum smuggler, and the other an ordinary fisherman, who come together in Sierra Leone to get their hands on a rare pink diamond on which their fates depend... they are helped along the way by a beautiful journalist, and all this is set against the backdrop of mayhem and civil war! A really good movie Blood Diamond is! Am I sounding cliched?!
Parzania is a story focusing on the plight of a Parsi family in riot-stricken Gujarat who lose their son when a mob of hudlums attacks their society! The movie is well made and has dealt with the horrors faced by the classified "non-Hindus" in post-Godhra Gujarat splendidly... The acting is superb and the plight of the people shown is heart-wrenching... no wonder I found my eyes welling up with tears... a first after eons! Man!! After all I've read about these happenings, it seemed so realistic that had someone told me I was witnessing the actual events, I'd have fallen for it! This movie is a must watch for everyone... let the world know how low can some people stoop! No wonder it has been banned in Gujarat... it's sure to dig up buried feelings and might lead to a backlash too!
Well depressions apart, I seem to have consumed 7-8 packs of Polo in the last 5 days:o! Gosh! Somebody stop me...

Will Power

I'm reminded of Scrappy Dappy Doo's famous dialogue from one of my childhood favorite cartoon shows featuring his uncle Scooby Dooby Doo... "Tadadadatadaaaan.... Puppy Power"!!
Ahem!
A lot is being said about techies being vela... and I do love proving things too... never mind it's proving a point wrong;)! This exercise is taking it's toll but at least I'm working for a change!
Indulgence in something has it's side effects! Reached gym late and the credit goes to certain individual who's too good to be real:o! So I missed TT, lawn tennis but I did make it for pool! Then again, didn't want to let go of the stick and voila! Missed the 9:15 PM bus by 2 minutes :(!
I've never ever given much thought to coincidences but of late, these are becoming glaringly obvious! For instance, when I returned to my cubicle and told my team mate Mohit about my missing the bus and having to wait till 11 PM for the cab, he promptly gave me his bike key and told me that he had his friend's bike waiting for him in the stand! Wow!
The feeling of the cold night air hitting my face and tears streaming down my face (without glasses I never could drive without spilling tears) while I sped down the highway was really heavenly! And all I wanted to do was keep driving...
Things sometimes work out so well... *sighs*

Variety

All set to enjoy a peaceful weekend after ages...
Left all worries behind and tried concentrating on that little orange ping pong ball which never seems to get smashed properly...
All it took to ensure that the weekend was the most hectic I'd ever experienced was a phone call!
I was required to be present at the company at 12:30 PM... on a saturday! People who're familiar with which unit I work in would've laughed their hats off had they heard this!
Well this was all for the closing day of my unit's anual festival, Mythri! And I was now participating in the fashion show! It was one helluva experience... hectic, yes, but very exciting! It went off smoothly and I'm so proud to have been part of the team!
The folks I ended up working with and befriending over the weekend have amazed me with their dedication, hard-work, cheerfulness, patience and cool attitude! Having a fight with your boyfriend for missing a date thanks to practise and not showing any regret... shedding tears because you get the feeling everyone is losing out on things because of you... shirking sleep and food for rehearsals... putting up a great performance with swollen eyes, bodyaches, etc... This post is dedicated to the gang... (in alphabetical order, so as not to showcase any preferences;)) Davinder, Divya, Jaswinder, Jyoti, Payal, Pooja, Prashant, Shweta, and Vaibhav! Hats off to you guys!
As for life post-Mythri, coincidences seem to be the in-thing! And I'm so workless...

Addicted

It was a rendezvous... well almost!
It was a revelation...
Looks and blogs can surely be deceptive... and I'm thankful for that!
Wasn't a facade supposed to hide something not quite presentable behind it rather than a pretty sight? Maybe it's not a facade after all! For once, I disagree with whoever initiated the use of the two sides of a coin to illustrate contrast...
It's amazing how one thing can lead to another... and that too in a short span of time!
Just a little while ago, someone who's just another name, albeit an influential one on the web, turns out to be like someone you've known for quite some time...
The very first conversation with a "stranger" isn't supposed to be such a relaxed affair!!
Why am I interested in blind dates all of a sudden?! :o
It's wacky and I'm sure I've lost it!
But hey DC! You really, realy made my day;)
Time to move on...
