The drudgeries of life

Sme sme
I know that I work in the marketing department of a small firm which operates in a fragmented niche market where it has to strive hard to position itself as a strong contender to the few biggies, but I never expected that the job profile encompasses working like a madman, even on weekends!
And as things stand, Sunday and Monday are set to be longer than long days... just like Friday and Saturday were.
I've always preferred moderation over extremities... so what if all days remain the same? It's better than being free on some days, and having a messed up routine on the remaining days.
The way things were going today, I became a chimney after 2 long months! So much for that...
Just when I reached home at midnight, I got to read that petrol prices have gone up... yet again! Gosh, can't inflation stay put, and prices remain the same for a considerable time at least?! To hell with politics and economics...
In addition to inflation, accidents, floods, riots, rape, murder, crappy movie reviews et al make up a major chunk of the papers. Not that I have anything against the incidents... the sensationalization of it all is what sucks. What's with news becoming more of a money minting business of late? Can't it be the same as it was in the previous decade?!
It's true that the only constant thing in our lives these days is change.
I hate change. I try to cling on to what was the best about every moment that life has been so considerate to offer.
Wish it were that simple...
Wish everything would remain sme sme...
Happy weekend! I'll be working my ass off :p

Bloody dogma!
This
kundli,
gud, yog, nakshatra shit sucks!
What sucks more is watching a lovely relationship bite the dust courtesy this orthodox mumbo jumbo!
It's a stupid society we live in...

Monday Bloody Monday... almost!
Sleepless night.
Early morning. Baddd news. All that work down the drain :x
Last minute work.
The race to Noida.
U-turns and what not.
Greasing palms... fucking corruption! :x
Glad to be leaving UP for good...
Dear friend :)
Loooong ride! Feeling like myself... forgetting the bad stuff ain't that difficult.
The prickly heat. Thank God for the good company... you tend to become oblivious to everything ;)
Bad news again! Shucks. Am I 'bad news' attracting magnet?!
South Delhi. MG road. Gurgaon.
DLF City Phase 3. Yucky houses. But then the proximity :|
A bit of kicking around. Broken glasses.
The deluge of bad luck. That urge to wave the white flag.
Then back to the place I fell in love with of late.
Damn I'm a good salesman! Call me an egotist, and I'll agree wholeheartedly!
I sold the society to Anand; then I sold "us" to the landlords.
Long long day. Nothing confirm.
That chance encounter on the lift. The beautiful house. The instant high! Somewhere I belong!!
Then another set of conditions :s
The fucking maddening heat. The depression.
Then that calm chat at Block B:
I: Don't worry about the finances... it'll be a bit of a strain but I'm more concerned about the distance for you.
A: Don't worry about the distance... we'll manage.
We: Let's do it... the world be damned :))
The lucky call to that broker.
The chance encounter with the gossip-monger... the challenge!
The sales process again!
The wait. The crossed fingers, toes and what not!
The beautiful apartment!!! Mamamia!!!!
The showdown. The thorough background check.
Complete transparency... despite the brokers' urging.
The vacillations. The indecisiveness. The sincerity. The candidness.
The decision.
Closing the deal. That firm shake of hands.
The crazy urge to cry. The euphoria.
The blank state of the mind when standing way above the world and staring out at the city's twinkling lights :)
It's done. We have a place to call our home :D
Things taking time to sink in. SIGHS!
The maddening joy overriding the intense frustration and the crazy depression that ruled during the day...
Love the Delhi roads at night. My one hand became a temporary wing, flapping every now and then! Woohoo!
Ghaziabad via Noida. Love the DND flyway!
Back on campus. The bath. The quick dinner.
The discharged phone. The broken charger :((((
Thank God for the only positive thing in the day... it was all that I had wanted.
The fatigue. Totally wasted. The jumping into bed.
Long day tomorrow too... shifting bases ;)

Topsy-turvy
Day started off really bad...
People would say that it takes such experiences to build a character, to become strong. Bullshit.
Easy to look back and smugly make such bland statements for others... You've lived to tell the tale? Good for you. Now shut the fuck up.
Kids for starters can do without such experiences. Been there, felt that.
Such things break you. Time heals, but slowly... very slowly. And the scar always remains.
When there is so much scope for it, failure is a scourge. But then everyone wants to make a beeline for it :|
Our education system is a mess. It breeds rats for a never-ending rat race.
Happy for those who're still running... loads for love for those who're taking a detour...
No looking back or halting now... keep running!
Things improved towards the evening...
Got to hear what I wanted to hear... finally!
Was expecting it all along (hopeless optimist that I am! :p) but still it came as a surprise!
Fingers crossed for it! Must have patience...
Have waited for ages for it... just a little but more!
Finally the wait is going to be worth it :)
And everything will fall into place... almost everything, that is!
Jumbled set of feelings...

Not my day!
Way back in trimester 1, when she was a candidate for the post of class representative of B1, I hadn't voted for her... I didn't know her at all back then.
Then came the crazy BC project... oh! How we survived that :D
Dunno when we became friends. Soon she gave me the name Stevu (in sync with Apu, Sudu, Chandu, Kau et al :D)
Hahaha one common thing that we shared at that point in time was a dislike for Sulabh's constant leg-shaking!!!
I'll never forget those crazy Edumentor days... those early morning bike rides to Preet Vihar;her non-stop chitter-chatter on the way about so many things; the cribbing in between sales (?!) calls; the several meals at V3S mall...
Then came the late night chat sessions... those promises of having breakfast together, and my falling asleep 15 minutes before breakfast time :P
I seriously don't know when we became really good friends... our separate gang also comprised of Chandu, Apu, Sippu and Sud! Will always miss those loooong walks around the campus, the coffee at Muskan, the ice tea and hot chocolate at Nescafe, the endless bakar...
How or why I was renamed Stevzi still beats me :)
The last couple of months were so much fun... as usual, I realized that I make some of my best friends of college in the last semester/ trimester :)
The back-to-back parties on the last couple of days, that sentiyapa, the singing like crazy along with the guitar, definitely ensured that we ended things on a high!
Many people have told me that she is the female version of Steve Nipps... yep we're like twins!
Bidding farewell to this sweetheart of a person today totally sucked... but I can bank on her words when she said that we'll definitely stay in touch and meet up soon...
You'll be missed a lot, 08FT-053 :)
Spent the entire day down with a hangover...
Bid farewell to 5 people today! Talk about people leaving in bulk :O
Thank God for the little errands that I had to run... keeping a bit busy at such times helps :)
Plus some special addictions make life seem so easy to survive! ♥
Maybe it was the KF, but I was literally scared during the horror movie Shaapit :P
Someone's message made the movie seem like a dud... And my hatred for entrance exams intensified further :x
It's strange when a well-blended mixture of giving something your best, praying and, crossing toes and fingers doesn't work!
It sucks when people don't get what's so meant for them...
The mini-subdued party in my room offered a stark contrast to the parties we had had in the last 3 days :(
But I loved what followed: Chandu and I carried a bed sheet to the dew'd up football field, and simply sprawled down on the sheet!
Ahhhh! This is the life... no tension (at least not at that moment! :P), no bother in the world! I so love staring up at the dark night sky... there's such a lot up there yet there is nothing!
We discussed so many things about the Indian mindset, competitive exams, comparisons, jobs, the rat race, personal vs. professional lives, the coming generations, marriage et al...
2 years ago, a similar setting would've invoked topics related to gaming, chicks, flicks, bikes, cars, music, etc.
Damn how sad and old we've become :P
Only good thing about today was my receiving my brand new harddisk! Yippeee!!
Off to copy loads of stuff onto it! :)
Time to say TGIF!!!!
Good night!
