Read between the names

Surprise! Another tag from Jen to drag me our of my slumber! Thanks buddy!

Here are the rules:

* You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
* When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.
* At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged

My middle name is JAMES. Here I go...

J stands for Jealous Cat! Yep, I get jealous very easily. If I hold something very dear or if I feel that it belongs to me, I so cannot see anyone else in it's possession. Same goes for the poeple who are close to me... If I like/love someone a lot, I wish to have their undivided attention, I want them all to myself. Sounds suffocating? Maybe, but that's me.
I remember how jealous I used to feel when after 7 years of being the focus of my parents' attention, all of it, or atleast most of it, was showered on my little sis. There have been several other instances, but I've gotten away by taking advantage of the thin line between envy and jealousy. Anyway, over the years this trait has been transformed into a form of possessiveness, a change for the better I guess.
Hold on a minute, someone seems to be fidgeting around with my phone :p

A is for Ambivalent! As far back as I can remember, I have always had a difficult time making up mind. Making a choice, selecting one out of many, choosing the right one (even if that entails doing a Eenie Meanie Minie Moe to get done with it) et al are situations that I suck at!
In exams with multiple choice questions, I can't dare to mark the asnwers randomly... my luck is such that if there are 4 options and if I'm given 3 chances, I'll end up choosing the 3 incorrect answers :( Even when I narrow down the options to 2, I'll always mark the wrong one. Forgive this lame example... the upcoming CAT exam and the mock tests that I'm taking are taking their toll.
Now let me decide whether I should work or fool around!

M is for Mischievious!! Oh yes! People who know me will agree wholeheartedly on this one :p I just can't resist pulling other people's legs. It has got me into trouble at times, but nothing more. This habit has done wonders when it came to breaking the ice too. At college, and even at at work, quite a few strangers and formal folks came to become a part of a cherished friend circle after obviously being made the butt of a joke. For example, I became really good friends with someone thanks to a prank I was playing on a common friend :D And it's like the vampire thing... once you are made the "victim", you join forces with the "victimisers" in hunting down a new prey!

E implies Ever Nostalgic! Quite a known fact, this, about me. I am ever ready to take a walk down memory lane, and sigh truckloads while I'm at it :D. I maintain a diary, making an entry in it on a daily basis is one good habit that I can boast of :), and I so love to just go through old entries once in a while, to relive the days that seemingly flew by.
People might believe that I am categorically nostalgic, that I remember only the good things... it is true to a certain extent. For example, I would prefer to forget a major part of my life spent at school. Sad though that you tend to retain what you try hard to forget. But then like a friend once put it, "Not all nostalgia is pleasant". Ho hum.
One thing is for certain... I'm prone to be stuck in the moment.

S means Sentimental :( I read a post by a female friend who I met not so long ago on the blogosphere. In it, she mentions how the smallest of things can make her cry. Ahem. Well it doesn't take much to get me sentimental too. For those who say that boys don't cry, get real... not that I wail and sob, but at times I find my eyes welling up with tears, the reason could be a sad movie, a sad yet lovely novel, a farewell (I so hate these), terrible frustration, etc. I so don't believe in keeping your feelings to yourself, nay to pent up emotions. Not that you have to burst out in public but it's not fair to pretend as if nothing is wrong when something is bothering you from the inside!

There! That does it I guess! The above 5 traits definitely don't define me completely, and they're not all goody goody qualities either, but I guess you'll have to put up with me on these fronts :p. I'm not going to name 5 people who must reply to this tag... it's a good one, so anyone is free to take it up.

Sorry guy! I've been so irregular and I've received complaints that I haven't been reading/commenting at all... I will, I promise. But work seems to pop up just when you think you can make do without it :D Keep posting and happy blogging!

Guten Tag - 8 random facts/habits

Yes, you read it right! It's another tag and I need to enlighten you with 8 assorted (ok, this I added just for flavor) traits of mine.
This tag I received from Sur, someone who has known me for over a decade... someone who, I thought, of all people knew that I am an open book. Well her passing on the baton to me seems to suggest otherwise :p Anyway, here goes nothing:

My most cherished activity is working out. Period. Ok, there are many other things that I love doing but nothing comes close to sweating it out at the gym. No, I don't aspire to be like Ronnie Coleman or Arnie, but yes I yearn to be fit and fine.
The passion was ignited with dad's being behind my back all the time with dumbbells, push-ups, etc. (I was really thin at one time... my pants rather than falling off used to climb up above my navel! Damn embarrassing it was at that time but now I look back at those times and laugh myself crazy :) ) The craze caught steam at college... never looked back since! Agreed that I was just average at studies during my 4 years at college, but if someone asks me whether I did anything worthwhile at college, I'd surely talk about gymming!
I still follow a strict regimen at the sexy company gym under the guidance of able instructors and boy! Lethargic though I feel before entering the gym, I feel like a new person every time I walk out! Timing again has been perfect... don't know how much time people find for themselves this way when they're committed (to work or otherwise :D)
Just one point down and seems like I've typed out pages of History :O

I'm highly nostalgic and it doesn't take much to trigger off my reminiscing the good ol' days. I find it difficult, impossible at times, to let go of the past. I enjoy the company of nostalgic folks and I take great pleasure it taking a long walk down memory lane with them. Old clothes, books, cards, smses, mails, even scraps of paper from the school days, try as I may, I just can't dispose of them. I love writing in my diary (something that I've been sticking to assiduously this year) and my favorite timepass, when spending a day at home, is reading old entires. I'm one helluva nostalgia freak, people. Anyone joining the bandwagon?

I have a sweet tooth. Nah make that a sweet jaw (something that I realized when chatting with a friend)! Dessert is the part of any meal which I eagerly and impatiently look forward to. Be it chocolates, cookies, cakes, pastries, icecreams, sweet curd, sweets of any kind, I always have room for more! Disparaging remarks like Piiiiiiiiig will have no effect, I'm sorry to say! The funny part is that since my childhood, I relish such stuff and rather than gobbling everything down at one go, I nibble at it for ages and ages... something that I believed would make the delicacy last forever. Also, I hate sharing my dessert or sweet dish or chocolates with people (save for a select few)... a fact which some unfortunate souls realized the hard way!

Addictions and I get along very well. At any point of time, I'm bound to be addicted to something or the other. None of these addictions is life-threatening, and none will be responsible for any terminal illness that I might be diagnosed with later in life, but from what I had heard, my ex-addiction of consuming pack after pack of Polo could've lead to impotency! So yes, I manage to get rid of addictions pretty fast depending on how adversely they might affect my well-being.

I flirt excessively! Ahem that might've sounded like a confession, someone crying out for forgiveness even! But hell no, I'm just stating another one of my quirks. Be it at office, on the campus, at the canteen, at the society, over the phone, via smses or mails, while chatting, you can catch me in the act! I was this shy, simple, silent, studious guy back at school who spoke to a handful of girls (ask Sur, or any classmate of mine for that matter)... I have no idea when or how this change came to happen, but seems to be suiting me fine :p

I have a very bad memory... worse than a RAM it is! I forget names in a jiffy; I meet loads of people every week, and the moment I shake their hand and let go of it, my brain is done remembering their name (well the retention power works slightly better when it comes to remembering the name of ladies!) I see so many familiar faces each day, and I guess I miss a lot of them too (no wonder when I fail to acknowledge someone who's giving me a charming smile, the person scowls menacingly next time onwards... if I remember the countenance, that is)... I'm pretty much embarrassed to ask their names again because, well, I'm sure to forget it pronto! So I have this queer habit of jotting down names.
I never seem to remember dates either! Wonder how many friends and relatives are pissed off with me for having forgotten their birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Sighs

I love making a bakra out of people, especially my poor friends. No, not for deriving sadistic pleasure but for the sake of pure, unadultrated fun. Pulling someone's leg just for the heck of it is something that I became a pro at during the college years. I'm afraid that there is no particular time when I'm 100% serious... unless when I'm depressed as hell, ofcourse. I like laughing a lot and I always enjoy it when people around me are cheerful and happy too. That said, I can't stand being made the bakra... maybe I'm a sore loser, but if you made a fool of me, I'll plot and plan and see to it that you suffer much worse. How's that for a confession? So, better watch out on who you play your next prank on...

Last (Phew! I'm exhausted!), I value the people in my life a lot more than my life. My parents and sister are my best friends, and though I spend hardly a couple of weeks every year with them, I love them like hell! My friends... can't imagine life without them too. Good times or bad times, whether they've caused joy or sorrow, irrespective of whether they've hurt me or helped me rise from the dumps, the lot of my pals and buddies and chums will always be an asset. Relatives... despised many of them earlier but now I realize that I like, if not love, most of them too.

There, I'm done! Funny though that when I started typing out this post, I felt that there was nothing to be said... now I'm left with many more things that'll have to wait till I'm tagged again! Now the fun part... passing on the baton *rubbing hands in glee*! I pass on this tag to Gee, Desi, VK, Sarat, Naresh, Jen, Ankit and DC. Really looking forward to reading about you all, so don't disappoint :)

The rules are as follows:

1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
4. If you fail to do this within eight hours, you will not reach Third Series or attain your most precious goals for at least two more lifetimes

I'm too lazy to carry out point 3, and point 4 was not my idea but let it be just for the heck of it (some people might just get intimidated and reply fast:p)

A verbose me is off to enjoy a nice weekend. Happy weekend, all!

P.S. Will correct the typos (they're bound to be in dozens) later.

Tag time - A score of questions

Had I been playing my part of the lazy slob, a tag would've been most welcome! But now that I have so much to blog about, and with me becoming a regular blogger *touch wood*, getting tagged is a surprise. So, thanks to Phoenix, you'll get to find out a wee bit more about me...

Disclaimer: The 11th question was missing when I was passed on the baton! Kindly refrain from any sort of assumption that I have wilfully omitted the same.

1. Pick out a scar you have, and explain how you got it:
The big (3" x 2"), dark scar on my left forearm... got it on the penultimate day of college when me and my ex-roomie, Rishabh, were done surpassing the 100 kmph barrier and had slowed down to a measly 50 kmph when Amod's newly acquired bike skidded! The rest as they say is history! We were lucky to escape with just scars and bruises... Ifelt bad for the bike though! Sorry Amod!

2. What is on the walls in your room?
Hmmm... lots of cobwebs:p!

3. What does your phone look like?
Just like a Samsung C210 is supposed to look like... dapper and dainty!

4. What music do you listen to?
Now that'll be a long list! Of late, I've been listening to songs the music of which I can play on the guitar! A painful task, but a pleasureful one!

5. What is your current desktop picture?
My childhood pic in which I'm barely 2 years old and I'm cradled in my mother's arms:) Yes, yes, I am a nostalgic fool!

6. What do you want more than anything right now?
To go back in time, not to change anything but just to live through the good old days again! Anyone coming?

7. Do you believe in gay marriage?
Lol! Get real! I might have a broad outlook but this is ridiculous! But does my opinion matter?! Such marriages are happening anyway! What the hell! Let the queens and fairies live happily ever after...

8. What time were you born?
At 0800 hours IST

9. Are your parents still together?
Ofcourse they are! Stupid question!

10. What are you listening to?
Creed's One Last Breath...

12. The last person to make you cry?
It was my pal, Bhavesh, who, on my last day at college, made me listen to a senti audio that he had made and before I knew it, I was crying after a long time... Farewells suck!

13. What is your favourite perfume/cologne?
I keep switching between the lot... liked Park Avenue at one time! Brut ain't bad either! But then there are lots of options to be tried out! Just take my advice and never use Axe's Pulse... it smells of piss:p

14. What kind of hair/eye colour do you like on the opposite sex?
Long, silky, knot-free hair and brown eyes.

15. Do you like pain killers?
Nope! Pain killers and sleeping pills I loathe.

16. Are you too shy to ask someone out?
No, I am not! Just that they are so many to choose from that I can't seem to make up my mind:D

17. Fave pizza topping?
Chicken or Mushroom topping with onions and extra cheese

18. If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?
A lot of things... I'm starved! But a fruit salad with lots and lots, and make that different flavors too, of icecream! No piiiigs, please! When do we eat?!

19. Who was the last person you made mad?
A certain person whom I've never met but who can still be held responsible for my mood swings! And boy! Just a couple of days ago, she had me fuming:p!

20. Is anyone in love with you?
Tough one! Maybe many, maybe none! How am I supposed to know?! Life is so cruel!

There! I'm done! I don't want to restrict myself to the number of people I tag. So anyone and everyone who feels like it can go right ahead and get tagged!

Happy weekend! Be sure to watch Spidey's latest heroic undertakings unless you want to read all about it in this space:p!
