The nadir of nadirs
Another beautiful Sunday morning! And the problem is that I can't spend it lolling around in bed!
One blaring alarm and three hits to the snooze alarm later, I reluctantly leave the shelter of my warm and cosy blanket to venture into the chilly early morning air!
The dorm is engulfed in an eerie silence as I make my way to the showers. I turn on the hot-water tap and wallah! Icy-cold water gushes out of it! Brushed my teeth while waiting for the cold water to make way for its tepid counterpart! Just when the prospects of finally being able to bathe in lukewarm water, if not boiling-hot water, seemed bright, the geyser ran out of water! Mumble grumble! A couple of curses! So cold water it is again! The first splash is the scariest and the most difficult one! One.... two.... threee.... GASP! You must've heard of bathroom singers, but of a bathroom dancer?! That's me! Make way, MJ! A couple of buckets and a few episodic sprays from the shower and I'm done! Just as well that I realize while I'm shivering like hell that in the somnolent state while leaving the room, I forgot to keep some clothes to wear for the way back! Lucky me nobody was up at that hour to witness a semi-nude freak parading through the corridors, shivering, mumbling, etc.
Had the choice of either shelling out about 1 grand and watch the one-day international cricket match between India and Sri Lanka at the stadium or take the mock CAT. The former was a rare opportunity to witness the Indian side, which is currently in its best form, humiliate its opponent; the latter is something I've been doing for the past 14 Sundays:(!
I chose to take the mock test and believe me, I felt like a real wimp after that! Just two weeks before the real thing and I'm as fucked up as one can be! Chosing to watch the match wouldn't have been a better option either, as I later realized, because India goofed up for the first time in the on-going tournament! This day was meant to be filled with disappointments!
As if the happening of the day aren't enough to piss anybody off, fucking people are disgusting too! There's a guy who's a topper.... if someone has the capability of clearing the CAT with elan, it's him! And if for once he falters, he becomes The topic of discussion.... be it at the lunch table, be it at the rooms, or in the stinking bathrooms! Give the guy a break, people! Being an achiever is a tough job, I tell you!
Phew! Tried to calm down by watching the movie, The Body of Evidence! Who knew the damn thing was nothing less than a porno flick! Should've guessed, with Madonna around there is a high probability of much more "body" than the evidence!
The highlight of the day: A really good chat with Vivek! We laughed at ourselves the way we always do when we screw up things pretty bad! Boy! Makes you feels so damn good! Got a bit nostalgic! Cursed our common fugitive quarry, namely the TIME Mock CAT scores, for always eluding us and for ending up as someone else's prize!
The day is gone! But it has left some scars! And I sure hope they heal soon! Some 10 odd days to go! My near and dear ones' hopes are all that keep me going! Time for some introspection! And maybe I need to see a shrink... a normal person would've contemplated suicide by now, but I haven't:(!
I try so hard to keep my posts laconic just like my e-pal Dreamcatcher does, but another effort in vain! Any suggestions??

consider urself blessed if ye ever get a chance to bathe in hot water in the hostel...nyways iam guessin the topper was vivek...but u cant help it pal..ppl are anxious over the CAT and evryone's trackin the MOCKCAT'S...well thx for the assurance yesterday night steve..man!! u do have a way of makin ppl feel secure ;)

good luck with the CATs! guess you won't be on too much for atleast these 2 weeks now..you should've watched the match nevertheless.! i haven't watched a whole cricket match in 3 years now..!i used to b a fanatic..i wouldn't miss matches even during my board exams! sadly i dont even know many of the teams anymore..anyway was that "Topper" you were talking about 'you'?? n if u werent.. you were modest enough to mention that u could be one very subtly!:P nicely put there!:P

Today is saturday. Tommorow there is this last mock by TIME. And here I am reading this post of yours and licking my wounds!! Will history repeat tommorow? Will Steve and Vivek have another late-night chat shamelessly laughing at themselves and cursing TIME? Too keep things straight, a simple question: "Will we clear the goddamn CUTOFFS tommorow????"

mocks over finally! whatever happened just forget it!! The ordeal is over, a new world awaits us! Where we can sleep on sunday mornings, stay up late on saturday nights, go to CJ at 3 AM in chilly winter on a bike, playing CS(not applicable to me),and and study for semester exams!!! :D
