The time is 3:30 PM.
It's hot like crazy, the sun mercilessly beating down on us poor living beings.
The tar roads of Delhi, the heavy traffic and the pollution on this sweltering summer day = quite a deadly combo!
I'm totally jaded... 400 odd kms of biking in 3 days in such crazy weather was expected to take its toll...
The dry lips. That slight dizziness. The feeling that I'm done for it... This is it!!
And then the sudden realization of what awaits me at the end of this journey! Selfishness is sometimes a life-saver :)
That sudden surge in the energy levels... the broad smile, and the sexy progress thereafter!
Sorry dear sunstroke, today ain't your day, it's mine... maybe later...
I missed out on the house hunt part when in Pune... no wonder it was a complete shocker of an experience!
Last night I was too tired to do anything! Wanted to lie down on the parapet on the 4th floor of the library building... chucked the plan.
Slept like a baby after closing the deal last night... reliefff! The leave on Monday won't be a waste after all :)
Early morning... again! Packing up finally!
Thank God switching off the discharged phone helped it retain some charge... a miracle of sorts! :P

Staying back and sitting on the AWHO lawns; watching the plethora of colors; the numerous kiddies running around, giggling, laughing... old grandparents playing mentors :) Young couples strolling about, some with their little babies in the prams! Awww!
Called up loved ones for conveying the good news... all but one...
I really found the place I wanted all along... it's somewhere I belong!
Just the place to return to after long days at work :)
Tomorrow will be the first of many such days... *sighsss*
Raced back to Dhaula Kuan after a quick stop at the block B market...
Human instincts are fascinating... though I was seeing everything on the road, nothing was registering save for the plethora of red hazy lights... my mind was meandering somewhere far away!
Yet, the application of the breaks, the clutch-gear shift sync, the maneuvering, all happened automatically as and when required!
Respect! :P
Felt like shit when I entered home. But contenT to the T!!
The extended weekend was the longest that I've ever experienced, the craziest and most hectic too... but most importantly, the most satisfying!!! :)))))
A cold water shower never ever made me feel so human :P
And it's such a pleasure getting pampered! Gonna miss this part the most :)
Sexy news towards the end of the day... woohoooooo!
It was expected, but still hearing it felt like a dream come true... :)

Topsy-turvy
Day started off really bad...
People would say that it takes such experiences to build a character, to become strong. Bullshit.
Easy to look back and smugly make such bland statements for others... You've lived to tell the tale? Good for you. Now shut the fuck up.
Kids for starters can do without such experiences. Been there, felt that.
Such things break you. Time heals, but slowly... very slowly. And the scar always remains.
When there is so much scope for it, failure is a scourge. But then everyone wants to make a beeline for it :|
Our education system is a mess. It breeds rats for a never-ending rat race.
Happy for those who're still running... loads for love for those who're taking a detour...
No looking back or halting now... keep running!

Today was a Monday?! I can't believe it!
I slept last night like a log, and I was brimming with energy the whole day today!
Going brain dead works like a charm :D
Even the 11 hours at office seemed to get over in a jiffy!
Great news all around about dear ones' success stories! Feeling soo prouddd!!
An unexpected late night call from a dear friend was such a breath of fresh air... suddenly I miss those Infy days, the fun@x-zone, the WM-in-WM masti, the evenings at ECC, the long bike rides on the Mumbai-Pune bypass et al!
In the mood to upload truckloads of pics of the yesteryears one day when I get back from work early! :D

Back to the future!
Suddenly it struck me that 35 years down the line when I retire, I wont have to bother about finding things to keep myself busy!
Lots of stuff from the archives (be it from gmail, gtalk, fb, blogger, diaries, photo albums et al) to indulge in for, at least, the first couple of months :P
Woohoo! So much for answering the question related to looong-term plans!!
Things fell into place beautifully today evening onwards...
Feels awesome to have a wonderful boss... you rock, PB sir!
After a 15 hours long day spent in the office, 10 hours seem like a cakewalk! :))
The house hunt till now might not be in vain... depending on you, AK!!
Somehow I feel that the days are too short... why can't we have 48 hours long days?!
But then, who needs so many hours when you can live a lifetime in a few minutes... :)
Anyway, early to bed today... bonnuit tout le monde! :)

I knew it was going to be challenging, but this challenging!! Phewww!
Have spent many 15-hours long days while at Infy, but it was a first here!
Must admit MBA has made me rusty... oh well! I'll get used to it soon :)
Despite my dear boss threatening me 'n' number of times against hitting the road late in the night, I just couldn't sleep over at the office.. too depressing a thought!
Save for the heavy duty vehicles, there was not a single moving object on the Delhi streets! And it was such a pleasure zipping past the landmarks which I've been seeing in slow-motion till now :D
Returning home late at night does have its merits!
Crazy couple of weeks ahead.
Add to that the house hunt, the search exercise undertaken till now for which seems to be all in vain, and it gets crazier!
Testing times, these are...

Somewhere I belong...
Mystic river
I have always fancied taking long walks.
And when it comes to Subroto Park, the 'longer than long' walks are simply a pleasure :)
Plus the nice songs on the radio! What more?
The icing on the cake is that sojourn atop the bridge at the starting of the Gurgaon expressway *sighs*
Simply love that feeling of standing up above the crazy night traffic, observing the brilliant lights running hither and thither in the darkness, making a dash for a finish line that doesn't exist...
Watching the traffic disappear under my feet, it felt as if I were a race marshal signalling the end of the race!
The longer I stared at the hundreds of beacons streaming towards me, the more mesmerized I was!
Was rooted to my spot for quite a while, thinking nothing yet smiling...
Life is so much like driving in the traffic... when you're stuck in a jam, all you want to do is get free and floor the accelerator... as soon as you escape the jam and find a free road, you race as if your life depended on it, only to get stuck in the next jam oh-so-quickly... you cuss and swear not to repeat this mistake, to enjoy the traffic-free stretch in the road the next time round... but your patience runs out by the time you escape the jam... and it goes on and on...
A vicious circle called life :)
It's funny how I admire this mayhem from my perch, yet I loathe it when I'm involved in it! Double standards to the core :)
Very long and interesting working days ahead! Hope I'm kept away from these parts for a while...

Thank God it's Sunday!!
Long long day... why do some days just seem to stretch and stretch?
Maybe because today was a Saturday. Maybe.
Lots of traveling... this summer is just like the last one! Me and my bike... and the never-ending roads...
The destination and the companions today were awesome... I really need to get a life when I can... I seem to have forgotten how to live mine, courtesy work life et al...
Tomorrow is another day of indulgence. Before another long week...
Now I know what God felt like when he created the seventh day... well almost :))
For once, being back to square one feels like a miracle :)
Happy Sabbath, folks... make the most of it.. I am going to, for sure ;)

Good-gaon!!
First impression: Concrete jungle.
Current impression: Whatta place!!!
Rode through a place called South City 2...
Had heard lots about it, but I had no idea that it was so huge... and so beautiful!
Pestered my broker to take me to an occupied house at, as late as, 8 PM!! That the family was too good to entertain me and give me words of wisdom about the place is another story :)
But my dream residence, for now, will be at a place called Army Welfare Housing Organisation. And somewhere up in the sky, at a place where there are 3 balconies at least!
It's funny how AWHO wasn't a place that I was going to ever consider, it being a bit far off and all, but I had just jotted down the name after seeing a pic on the net! And surprise surprise, it's the only place that seems to have remained uncrossed on my original list after 2 weeks :D
Fell in love with the view from that 4th floor apartment at AWHO... Gurgaon isn't the concrete jungle that I thought it was...
Checked out over 10 houses today! Now this is what house hunting is all about...
Oh well! Time to sleep now... the bed beckons!

Today I talked to one of my best friends ever... after eons!
Last time we spoke to each other, it was my birthday. Today it was hers. How can I ever forget May 13 :)
And long ago, we had promised each other that we'll not let things come to this stage when we call each other only on birthdays. So much for promises :(
Ok, it did take a lot of manaofying and pataofying, but a salesman always has his way if he sells things the right way ;)
Quoting Naresh, "In sales, the strategy for winning over the other person is the person who devises the strategy himself". In this case, I was the strategy :P
Anyway, today was a good day to renew old promises! Let's see how long this holds...
I used to pride myself on keeping in touch with all my friends... seems like it was all a farce!
The number of complaints from friends that I hardly, if ever find time to talk to them has gone uppp :s
In the past 4 odd years, I've been too caught up in my life...
That, and I've made such a lot of new friends too :))

My first love :)
Yep it was love at first sight! And it's still going strong... after almost a quarter of a century!!
She was 21 years old then, but she's 46 years young now ;)
If she was beautiful back then, she's gorgeous now!
If she had a lap into which I used to fit in so snugly, the comfort of that lap is one of my most cherished things... no matter only my bulky head fits in there these days :D
If she was the best cooker (:p) in those days, she's the best damn cook in the whole wide world right now!
If she was a caring parent and a loving mother back then, she's all that plus a best friend now :)
If she was the one who endorsed me right from the start, right from my first walkie-walkie to my venturing out into the cruel world, she's my biggest and strongest pillar of strength till date!
If she's the one who faced the music because of me back then, she still puts up with all my nonsense oh so calmly and patiently :(
If she was a patient scriptwriter back then who slowly and meticulously developed the characters of her children in the movie called Life, she is now the two-time APPUlitzer Prize winning Writer for meticulously penning down out 2 beautiful success stories :))

One day at a time...
This one's not going to become a rut... it's too dynamic and exciting for that to happen :)
And I so love busy days over hectic days...
Today turned out to be a long day... started off awesomely and ended well... I didn't mind that rework followed by the re-rework a bit :D
And to think of it, I was sooo keen on a sales job! Marketing rocks!!!
Love seeing some people being themselves... so wish that, now and then, I get to isolate them from their stupid daily life tensions...
With all the house hunt mania in the air, I've kinda taken a penchant for Saket! Whatta place! *Whistles*
Any pointers on Saket are most welcome!
Vasant Kunj and Chattarpur are ruled out...
If I thought that the week was a busy one, Sunday is gonna be a notch busier from the looks of it... got to check out lots of houses, mainly a really cool apartment in Gurgaon... fully furnished, A/C, Fridge (yippeee :D), Power backup et al... and the complete package at a very nominal rate!
Oh well, just 4 days of worklife - part 2, and I feel so experienced! :p

don't want to reach that stage anytime soon!

Groovy!!
Today I was awestruck by the application of technology! Mamamia!!
Seeing the various simulators at work was seriously fascinating!
The level of detail involved in the design and creation of these gizmos was incredible... no wonder the real-life feeling when operating them, be it the visuals, the sounds or even the motion effects!!
Just thinking that I'd be selling such hi-tech equipments gives me a feeling a pride! Woohoo!
Oh well! Understanding the technology is going to be painstaking, but it's so going to be worth it :))
And like the big boss promised, lots and lots of new things are round the corner!

And so it starts...
First day at work... take 2!!
I knew the company was good!
I knew the company was good!
Up close, the profile looks better... marketing and business development to the core! Yippee!
The deliverables are challenging and exciting... *bring it on*
The colleagues, my immediate boss, and the big bosses are awesome people!
The food in the canteen was yummy!
The temporary workstation is neat... the new cubicle that'll be ready soon is awaited!
The company policies are employee friendly... loved some of them totally!
Staying at Eshwar Mama's place is always such a pleasure... Viji Manni's awesome cooking skills, masti with Mama, bakar and games with Adi and Guls... reminds me of the summer of 2009 :))
And I'll eventually end up living in Gurgaon!

When I look back at those seemingly endless months of struggle, those numerous interviews and the plethora of rejections, the bold decision to sign-up crazily selectively despite the placement drought, the absurd stubbornness to dictate bold criteria for company selection (Well-known company + Marketing/ Sales Profile + Delhi/NCR posting!), the days and nights spent in depression, the struggle to live with myself under such circumstances et al, it all seems like it happened in another era... Flashbacks come now and then tinged in sepia :)
You might think that what I'm about to say is just because I got lucky and scraped through, and had my way towards the fag-end of college, but that's not the case.
Everything works out... it surely does... eventually! Just that you have to constantly struggle to see that eventuality...
And I'll eventually end up living in Gurgaon!

Just wondering...
The mini-roll of Polo that the Nestle outlet fella hands out for the lack of 2 one-rupee coins: is it a deliberate attempt at pushing sales, or is the brand Polo getting diluted unwittingly?!
I hate...
...Packing, Moving, Unpacking, Settling in, Repacking, Moving again... you get the drift, right?
The never-ending story of sorts!
But I do like rediscovering old things (forgotten books, messages scribbled on tattered pieces of paper, little gifts, greeting cards, dog-eared photographs et al :) ) during the packing process... so what if it just prolongs the task :D

A New Start...
Left home early today morning... was back in Delhi within 2 hours!
Got to travel Business Class when I was expecting to travel Economy Class... wow! What a start to the brand new start :))
Back to my second home... Mama's place in South Delhi! Some transitions are so wonderful... :)
Ok, unofficially started the house hunt today... by the look of the way things are going, it's going to be tough! Ouch!
Sexy evening in NCR... getting wet in the rain, racing the bike on the expressway, last minute plans working out in superb fashion :))
The weather was sooo awesomeeee... sitting on the platform outside that beautiful mall, the cold breeze gushing past us while we forgot the whole world, I just wanted to hit the "play in loop" button... if only life were kind enough to provide one! Oh well, who says repetitions aren't possible?! ;)
The fact that things aren't simple, and that circumstances are biased makes things a bit tense, but definitely more enjoyable and cherished :)
Missing home heaps!!! :(
